STOWERS DELIVERS CAT® GC STANDBY GENERATOR SET FOR TENNESSEE AQUARIUM

We are proud to announce that the Tennessee Aquarium chose Stowers Cat to supply standby power to its aquarium in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In April of 2020, the Cat D350 GC generator set, from Caterpillar’s latest product range, was installed and commissioned by Stowers Cat, supplying backup power to the aquarium. This is one of the new Cat GC diesel generator sets that range from 250 kW to 600 kW and is designed to provide reliable performance from a minimum footprint.

“We have about 1.1 million gallons of water that are used to house our aquatic collection,” says Rodney Fuller, director of facilities and safety for the Tennessee Aquarium. “We make sure that the environment that they live in is as close to what they would experience in the wild as possible. Providing a clean, temperature-controlled environment is very important, and having reliable power is a big part of that.” “With the aquarium being a non-profit organization, controlling costs is very important,” Fuller added. “The new model offered us a price break that we were looking for, while still providing the functionality that we need.”
