Machine Inspections

Inspections are a valuable part of preventive maintenance, and can extend the life and increase the efficiency of your machines.

The Value of Visual and Technical Inspections

If keeping your machines working productively is a high priority for you, we can help. Visual and technical inspections from Stowers Machinery are designed to keep your machines operating at peak performance levels.

When compared to a machines that is losing productivity due to, for example, a worn pump, an engine that is not producing horsepower, or a transmission that is slipping, keeping your machine operating at an optimum level lowers your overall owning and operating costs.

We often use the terms TA1 and TA2 to describe the visual and technical inspections we offer. Read on to understand what’s included in each type of inspection.

TA1 Inspection

The Technical Analysis 1 inspection (TA1) is a thorough visual walk-around inspection, during which a Stowers technician examines your machine for rubs, wear, leaks, or unusual noises and sounds in your machine. While the details of a TA1 inspection for each specific machine can be different, it doesn’t take a lot of time to complete a TA1 inspection.

TA2 Inspection

The Technical Analysis 2 inspection (TA2) is a lot more in-depth; it’s like a complete physical examination of your machine. A Stowers technician will check your hydraulic pressures, cycle times, power outputs, and run a series of machine-specific tests to determine the operational condition of your machine’s systems, including:

  • Engine
  • Cooling system
  • Hydraulic system
  • Cab
  • Powertrain
  • Body and frame
  • Operator’s compartment
  • Undercarriage (if applicable)
  • Ground engaging tools
  • Buckets
  • Blades
