Emissions Solutions for Machines

Whether it’s construction, quarry and aggregate, waste, or any other industry powered by Caterpillar diesel engines, Cat retrofit solutions can help you meet today’s strict emissions requirements and prepare your fleet for future contracts. Read on to learn how to meet emissions requirements, avoid loss of business, and get the most from your equipment.

Engine Repower Program

For older diesel engines, Stowers has repower options with new or remanufactured Cat engines that are built to meet more stringent emissions regulations. Repower solutions are available for over 70 applications across several product families. Act now to put new life into your machine and breathe easier.

Emissions Upgrade Groups

This EPA-verified solution reduces emissions after an overhaul by replacing the critical emissions components with proven components from a later model engine to achieve reduced emissions. This is a very cost-effective method to reduce particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions.

Catalyzed Converter and Muffler

Caterpillar catalyzed converter/mufflers reduce particulate matter, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide from Cat machines. These oxidation catalysts are sized to replace the existing muffler and do not require any maintenance. A wide selection of the catalyzed converter/muffler is available to retrofit nearly all Cat machine models.

Diesel Particulate Filters

Cat® Diesel Particulate Filters are designed to reduce emissions of particulate matter, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons. A high-efficiency ceramic filter traps over 85% of particulate matter during all engine operating conditions. Chemical reactions convert particulate matter, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Passive Cat Diesel Particulate Filters eliminate the need for electric heaters, fuel burners, or fuel additives. Regeneration occurs under normal machine operating conditions without machine downtime. Quick-release clamps allow easy access to remove residual ash from the filter module.

The end result is lower airborne emissions, proving that retrofit technology is a cost-effective solution to reduce emissions for in-use engines that were not originally designed to meet tighter emissions standards.
