Earthmoving Preventative Maintenance

OIL ANALYSIS

Scheduled oil sampling is the number one tool for effective equipment maintenance. A two-ounce sample can reveal more about a machines condition faster and cheaper than a complete tear down and inspection.

In the 25 years that Stowers has offered SOS customers have saved thousands of dollars in repair costs by early detection of wear problems, preventing components from being run till destruction.

Now SOS is even better. Through additional research and improved testing methods, SOS measures the condition of the oil as well as detecting the presence of wear metals. Even with new and improved test methods an SOS sample is priced for less than 5 cents per operating hour.

FLUID & FILTERS

Caterpillar filters provide consistent performance to protect your engine, drive train, and hydraulic systems. Equally important is the fluid used in your machine components.

NOT ALL FILTERS ARE EQUAL

While other filters may be lower priced, it’s important to know they provide significantly less protection. And with today’s sophisticated engine and other component systems, that’s a risk that just doesn’t make sense to take. Because Caterpillar filters are made better, they provide consistent performance to protect your engine, drive train, and hydraulic systems.

EQUALLY IMPORTANT IS THE FLUID YOU USE

You must ensure that these fluids meet or exceed the required specifications for lubricity and protection for the internal parts of the component in order to maximize the life of components. But choosing the right fluids for your equipment doesn’t have to be a challenge. There’s one sure-fire way to simplify the selection process: follow the manufacturer’s requirements.
