| JOB SUMMARY As a Stowers service technician, you will be supervised by a shop manager as you perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of machines from the entire Caterpillar product line, that are owned and rented by our customers. Your supervisor is there to help you, but you will perform many of your duties independently. In this job, you will inspect machines, determine whether parts can be reused, and develop parts and material lists as needed. Also, you will use your knowledge of test equipment and repair procedures to make repair decisions and set up jobs. JOB REQUIREMENTS To be considered for this position, you should have a high school diploma (or GED) and a valid driver's license. You must be able to pass a background check, an inspection of your motor vehicle record, a physical exam, and a drug screening. We also prefer that you have two or three years of experience working as a heavy equipment service technician. As a Stowers service technician, you will use your analytical skills to do troubleshooting on equipment and your writing skills to prepare service reports. Your strong verbal and interpersonal skills will help you interact with your coworkers and our customers.
