GENERATOR SIZING SOFTWARE

Electric Power SpecSizer software from Cat Electric Power provides accurate and timely technical data, robust load models, and optimized algorithms to assist in specifying a properly sized generator set to best meet your power needs.

SPECSIZER VERSION 2.7.0 NOW AVAILABLE

Available now for PC users, SpecSizer version 2.7.0 features an optimized 20-Step Wizard that automatically calculates the least number of steps for building a load scenario. The 20-Step Wizard collects loads, evaluates voltage dip and load demands, and then organizes the loads into steps to help users select a generator set with an optimal rating and footprint that minimizes costs. Along with voltage dip and skVA, the tool now provides an additional method for sizing based on customer-specific frequency dips.

SpecSizer has been updated with technical specifications on several new Cat® power systems components introduced in 2011, including generator sets, automatic transfer switches (ATS), switchgear and uninterruptible power systems (UPS).

In addition to the generator set sizing analysis, SpecSizer provides a concise, customizable text document or guide specification that is dynamically linked to any program-selected or user-selected generator set. SpecSizer also produces a project sizing report with engine, alternator and generator set technical data and a transient performance report that can be distributed electronically.

HOW TO GET YOUR FREE COPY OF SPECSIZER

If you are a current user of SpecSizer, you should receive a prompt when using the software to auto-update to the latest version. If you do not already have SpecSizer software installed, you may request a free download by clicking the ELECTRIC POWER SPECSIZER SOFTWARE ORDER FORM link at the right. You will then be contacted by the staff at Caterpillar and provided with a link to download the software, after which you can install it and begin using it immediately.

KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SPECSIZER INSTALLATION

There is a known issue you may encounter when trying to install SpecSizer. It is not uncommone to encounter the error message "Microsoft SQL Server didn't load correctly" during the installation. Often, this error is a result of the fact that MSXML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 has already been installed on your computer.
